A collaboration between Sedgemoor fm radio, Angel Place Shopping Centre and other partners have organised a campaign to collect a tonne of tins of food for the Foodbank before Christmas Day. The results are in and the total was an amazing 800kg, just short of the 1000kg aim. This amounted to around 1700 tins in total, a fantastic effort!
See the pictures below of the volunteers and helpers who collated the donations and then got all the tins to the Foodbank warehouse. The message was ‘Think local first, donate a difference’.
A huge thank you goes out to the volunteers but also to all the people who donated the tines of food. These tins really do make a difference and will be used throughout the winter to give to the needy to help them through tough times.
