Construction work nearly complete – Building project update.

Our new Store building is taking shape! The steel frame has been assembled and the cladding fitted. Soon, once the skylights and doors have been installed, the building will be watertight! We’re looking forward to being able to use the space.

New foundations! – Building project update.

The concrete for the foundations of our new building have now been poured! Pictures below. The next stage will be the construction of the steel frame, which we hope to start very soon.

Ground broken on building project!

A new purpose built store is planned for the Autumn on the site of the old dilapidated Portacabin, and the ground has just been broken! Once completed, the new building will facilitate storage and processing of donations, while clients will continue to be welcomed in our existing building.

Building upgrades

We have been upgrading the premises and have had new double glazing fitted in all windows, three doors have been renewed, and the facia and guttering around the building has been replaced with modern plastic.

Accommodation found for rough sleepers

Rough sleepers in Bridgwater have been found accommodation since the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak, which is a great help to the individuals concerned. We hope the accommodation will be able to continue.

New heating system

A new heating system has been installed in our premises. We are also going to replace the old metal ‘Crittall’ windows which are single glazed and not wind-proof with double glazed units, which will make the heating system much more economical to run.
